Registration and eligibility
The competition is open to any participant affiliated with a public entity (non-profit organisation, university, research institute) or private entity (startup, innovative company) with a project aligned with the theme of the current IAR.
Applications must be submitted via the “Apply” page between 25 June 2025 and 15 September 2025 at 11.59pm (UTC+2). The application form must be in English, complete and in the required format.
Yes, all application form will be processed in the utmost confidentiality. Only the organising team and judges will have access to the submitted application form. However, if you are a winner, part of your project will be shared in Groupe Roullier’s communications, with your consent.
Projects and themes
“Sea to Farm” refers to approaches that leverage marine-based or marine-inspired resources and methods to address agricultural challenges (animal/plant nutrition, processes, etc.). Your project must align with this approach while delivering an innovative solution linked to the marine environment.
Your project must be sufficiently structured to be assessed according to the selection criteria. All TRL levels are eligible except TRL 9. Please refer to the description of each award for more information.
Competition process
The key stages are outlined in the timetable: submission of application forms, short-listing by business units, selection by the judges, and finalist pitches at the final conference in Saint-Malo.
You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been submitted. We will then contact you by email if you are selected as one of the finalists of this IAR 2025-2026 edition.
The final conference is scheduled to take place in Saint-Malo, France, in March 2026. The organiser reserves the right to change the date, location or format of the event in case of major constraints or circumstances beyond their control. Participants will be informed of any changes as soon as possible.
Awards and prizes
Three prizes are awarded, each accompanied by a financial grant and tailored support from Groupe Roullier, in line with each winner’s priorities. In addition, all winners benefit from exposure through Groupe Roullier’s media channels (external visibility) and from introductions to our business units (internal visibility).
No, as the project typology expected for each prize is different in terms of technological maturity, the same project will not be able to compete for more than one prize within the framework of the current IAR edition.
Project selection
No. Once submitted, no changes can be made. However, if your project is selected, you will have a chance to present its developments at the final conference.
Applications will be assessed by a diverse panel of judges based on four criteria: Excellence, Impact, Implementation, and Motivation – each of which includes specific indicators such as project innovation, feasibility, value creation and entrant commitment.
Yes, it is possible to combine the IAR award with other support or funding, provided that the aid received does not prevent the signing of a collaboration agreement (for the Exploration Award) or support from the Group (for the Scale up Award and Young Talent Award).
